❤︎ you were my home ❤︎

After three and a half years of building, cooking, and storytelling in London, I’ve decided to spend some time exploring new chapters outside of the city. I’m not saying a final goodbye, but as I prepare to move between London and other parts of the world more often, I wanted to host a deeply personal evening for the people who became my foundation here.

I titled this dinner "You Were My Home." People often asked me if I felt homesick living so far from Korea, but my honest answer was always no. I realised that "home" isn't a coordinate on a map; it is the safety, warmth, and laughter found around a shared table. This dinner was a thank you to the friends who made London feel like my own.

No grand themes or complex concepts—just a table filled with the faces I love, the food that sustained us, and the memories we’ve built together so far.

The following was written in the back of an Uber on my way to the airport, caught between the life I lived and the one I am about to start.

What I have realised is that some memories need to be carried forward, while others must be left behind to make room for what is next.

Sitting in an Uber on my way to the airport, I thought about myself three and a half years ago—nervous, struggling to catch the rhythm of a British accent, with no idea how my life would evolve. I can say with full honesty: what happened in London was bigger than anything I could have dreamed of.

London gave me the greatest gift I could ask for: the chance to practice the art of creating something from scratch. This city allowed me to build a life, a brand, and a community of my own.

"The density of my time here felt like an intensive course in everything I was once lacking."

I am leaving with a matured confidence and a much clearer sense of who I want to be. While there were moments of loneliness, I realised that my greatest strength is my ability to settle anywhere and make it beautiful. But I didn't do this alone. To the friends I met in London and from around the world: You were my home. Because of you, I never felt truly homesick. You made this city belong to me.

After this 3.5-year marathon, it is time for a short break to slow down and prepare for the next move. I feel bolder and broader because I know I am supported. To me, a successful life is measured by the people who stay by your side. Looking at the network of friends who are genuinely excited for my next chapter, I feel like I can do anything.

What an amazing life this is. I will be back soon, sharing love and warmth in the only way I know how: the "Sol" way.

Love conquers all.
